1. What inspired you to launch WyeTec?
Red wine, sunshine, a caving holiday in France and working for idiots.
2. What's the best thing about what you do?
Our clients. We enjoy working with all of them. Well, nearly all of them.
3. And the worst?
Credit control. It never fails to amaze me how people can spend extraordinary amounts of time and effort (and thus money) dreaming up lame excuses for late/non payment, and then have the cheek to expect things to be done yesterday.
4. What's your proudest achievement?
10 years of marriage and not a single argument.
5. What's the funniest thing that's happened to you as a web designer?
People in IT are not supposed have a sense of humour.
6. What one piece of advice do you wish you'd had when you started your business?
To listen to the advice I was given.
7. Who is your ideal client?
A realistic one.
8. What's your biggest ambition you've yet to achieve?
Time. Selling lots of these (www.ledcavinglamp.co.uk) would be good too.
9. What's the most important lesson you've ever learned?
"When I were a lad...", I once declared to the world "I'm bored!". This elicited the prompt retort of "Well, you must be a very boring person then!" . Boredom is a personality trait. Thankfully, I was trained out of it at a young age.
10. Which decade of the 20th century inspires you most?
If I'd been around to enjoy it, it would probably be the 60's.
11. How do you spend your leisure time?
Avoiding computers.
